Sun Hoods are a non-load bearing, decorative feature and are an affordable option to blue board or steel constructed hoods. They are also a more attractive and ‘upmarket’ alternative to Colorbond panel style hoods.
Like most of our other building products, Poly-Tek Sun Hoods are pre-rendered ‘in-house’ saving crucial time on site by not having to render after installation.

Specifications and Options
Poly-Tek Sun Hoods are made using a lightweight core material and finished with our signature ‘render style’ coating which makes them waterproof and durable. They are designed for easy installation in conjunction with brackets and approved sealants & adhesives.
Our Sun Hoods all feature a drip mould for water runoff and are available in a range of 8 standard sizes:
300w x 125 sloping to 100 | 300w x 160 sloping to 150 | 450w x 125 sloping to 100
450w x 160 sloping to 150 | 600w x 125 sloping to 100 | 600w x 160 sloping to 150
Sun Hoods of up to a maximum length of 4m can be achieved as one piece. Sun Hoods spanning longer distances require a number of shorter length hoods and we recommend leaving a distinct gap between each hood rather than onsite joining.
Poly-Tek does not advise painting our Sun Hoods in dark colours, as thermal movement is more likely to occur with the use of dark paint colours. For the same reason we recommend the use of a light reflective 35+ paint and failure to do so may result in voiding your warranty.
